Hello Shores

What a difference a year makes! I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the support you have offered our community in 2021. Our neighborhood is fortunate to have both a gathering place and neighbors enthusiastically working to preserve this gift. Reflecting on our exit from 2021, I would like to highlight some of our achievements and express sincere gratitude for you, our members. Without your dedication, support, and generosity, we would not be moving into 2022 with our finances secure and the largest community membership (160 members) of my four years.

Looking Ahead to 2022

 Please renew your membership for 2022 and talk to at least one non-member neighbor about the possibility of supporting the community by joining. Let’s break last year’s membership record. A renewal form is attached. Membership remains $50 per household. Please include your name, kids & ages under 18, address and best email for club news. The Club also welcomes donations. Any amount contributed above $50 per household will be considered a donation. Please join a volunteer group. Members are finding this is a great way to be involved, meet new friends and neighbors, and contribute in fun and rewarding ways to our community. This is also a great way to learn about our Shores Club. 

New Board for 2022

It is time for a new Board of Directors to be elected. The board consists of seven members, each of whom serves a one year term. All directors, current or new, must own in Bonita Shores or Little Hickory Shores and must be a Club member for the year 2022.

If you are interested in applying for the 2022 board, the process is as follows:

• Send an email to bonitashoresfl@gmail.com, indicating “Board 2022”, with your information, qualifications and a few words of your hopes and commitment for the year 2022.
• Emails must be in by November 29, 2021, 12:00pm.
• Two neighbors who are not on the current board will oversee the process.
• They will collect the expressions of interest received by email and present them to the current board.
• The 2021 board will look over the applications and privately vote for seven people.
• The votes will be collected and the two overseers will count the votes and determine the top 7 applicants.
• Once elected, the 2022 board will then elect its own officers.
• The 2022 Board will be announced at the January 5th potluck.

2021 has been a year of change and growth. Speaking personally, (this is my final year on the board) I could not be happier with how the year has ended. Thank you again for your support.
